Three Steps to Writing with Passion

1. USB burn interface program (not recommended)

Note: The version of GUIRun required for the touch screen must be equal to or greater than the version of the interface editing software used to create this interface program. If these conditions are not met, proceed to [2. Upgrade GUIRun version]. It is recommended to use the network port write burn mode. If the GUIRun version does not match, the system will automatically upgrade the GUIRun version before the write burn process.
1.1 Copy the target GUI program file AMB_GUI_xxxxxxxxxxx.hw6 to the root directory of the USB flash drive.
1.2 Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port located behind the touch screen, power on the screen, and the touch screen will automatically navigate to the [USB setting screen], as shown in the image below.

Explanation:
① The current version of GUIRun must match the interface editing software version of the compilation interface program.
② The version of the underlying screen firmware should be 5.78 or later to avoid long disconnections. If a disconnection occurs, power on the device again and try again. After switching to this interface for 2-3 seconds, the "Remaining space" will be displayed here, as shown in the figure.

③ Start the refresh interface program function.
④ Select the target interface program file.
1.3 As shown in (1) in the figure above, the GUIRun version is too old and needs to be upgraded first. Go to [2. Upgrade the GUIRun version].
1.4 Click [Update *.hw6], and it will jump to the [Super Password login interface]. Input "12345678", click [Yes(√)], and then it will return to the [USB setting screen].
1.5 At this time, ③ in the figure above will become the operable area. Select the required interface program file from the file list, double-click the file, and click [Yes (Y)].
1.6 After the writing is complete, the touch screen will restart, and a new interface will be displayed.

2. Upgrade GUIRun Version

Note:
A. The GUIRun version can only be upgraded by connecting a network cable and using a program on a PC.
B. The IP address of the touch screen to be upgraded must be 192.168.10.231.
2.1 Change the Ethernet Network Segment to be in the same network segment as 192.168.10.231.
2.2 Run GIUpdate.exe, then enter the touch screen IP address as 192.168.10.231, right-click Download, select Select Target File (H), left-click the button to the right of File Name, select an available target interface program file "GUIBuild.hw6", then left-click Download to start upgrading GUIRun.

2.3 The following information is displayed after the upgrade is successful:

3. Modify the Touch Screen's IP Address

3.1 Verify the IP address of the touch screen.
3.2 Modify the Ethernet network segment to ensure it matches the IP address entered in the previous step.
3.3 Run GIUpdate.exe and enter the IP address confirmed in the previous step, for example, 192.168.10.231. Select GUIBuild.hw6 from ConfigIP and click Download.


3.4 After successful writing, the touch screen will restart and display the interface as shown below; Click "Network Configuration". We need to change the IP address to 192.168.192.21 and the gateway to 192.168.192.1. Click Back.

3.5 Once you have made the necessary changes, click on the [Function] button, then select the [Ethernet/CAN Configuration] interface. Next, click on [Yes (Y)] to save the current configuration and restart the touch screen.
3.6 After the restart, you can check the current IP address of the touch screen by clicking on the Network Configuration option.

4. Program for Writing Interface in Network Port Mode (Recommended)

4.1 Verify that the IP address of the touch screen is 192.168.192.21. Check if pinging 192.168.192.21 is successful. If it fails, try pinging 192.168.10.231 again. If it succeeds this time, proceed to step 3.
4.2 Modify the Ethernet Network Segment to ensure that it is in the same network segment as the IP address confirmed in the previous step.
4.3 Run GIUpdate.exe, then enter the touch screen IP address as 192.168.192.21, right-click Download, select Select Destination File (H), left-click the button to the right of File Name, Select the GUI program file "GUIBuild.hw6" in the target path (the file name cannot be modified), and then left-click "Download" to start writing the GUI program.

4.4 After the writing is complete, the touch screen will restart and a new interface will be displayed.

5. Comparison between network port mode and USB mode for writing interface programs

The diagram below illustrates the two methods for writing interface programs.

When writing interface programs, it is necessary to use interface editing software (CoolMayHMI), and the tool for burning (GIUpdate.exe) is a component of the interface editing software. Both software versions must be consistent.
When writing the interface program, it is important to ensure that the version of the interface editing software (CoolMayHMI) used to edit the interface program matches the version number of the GUIRun on the screen (available on the USB flash drive Settings screen). If the version numbers of the two versions are different, the write will be successful, but the screen will fail after reboot and remain stuck on the Fatal Error screen.
Compared to USB, giupdate.exe will check whether the GUIRun driver version of the screen matches its own version before using the network port to write the interface program. If the GUIRun version is lower than the GIUpdate version, GIUpdate will update the GUIRun version before you can write the interface application. When using USB to burn the interface program, you only need to burn the program without performing this version detection step.
