Three, connection of wiring harness

Laser Signal Cable and Laser Power Cable

  1. Screw the M12 connector of the laser signal cable into the Ethernet port of the laser sensor, and connect the RJ45 connector to any of the six switches on the core controller.

  2. Screw the M12 connector of the laser power cable into the power input port of the sensor, and connect the other end to a suitable power supply. The brown cable is 24+, and the blue cable is GND.

Due to changes in materials, it may be difficult to differentiate the positive and ground wires of the power cord based on wire color alone. Please refer to the following diagram:

Four, Parameter Configuration

4.1 Configuring the IP Address of the Laser Device

  1. Change the Ethernet IP address of the notebook to 192.168.192.xx, set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and configure the default gateway to 192.168.192.1.

  2. Install the SOPAS software and launch it. Connect the sensor signal cable to the laptop.

  1. When SOPAS detects that the LMS511 is connected to the computer for the first time, it will prompt to change the IP address. Select "Change IP Address" and set it to the following settings: IP: 192.168.192.100, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, default gateway: 192.168.192.1.

  1. When SOPAS initially detects that the LMS511 is connected to your computer, it will prompt you to install a driver. Choose Install Device Driver - Upload from Device.

Note: If you are unable to upload from your device, simply restart the SOPAS software and try again.

  1. Once the laser device's IP address and driver have been installed, restart the device. After the restart is complete, use the Ping command to test 192.168.192.100. If the test is successful, the laser device's IP address has been correctly configured.

Note: Please restart the device after configuring the laser device.

4.2 Functional Testing

  1. Once the IP address and driver for the laser device have been installed, the device must be restarted. Additionally, the SOPAS software must also be restarted. Utilize the device search function and wait until the search is complete.

  1. Add the laser device to the project list by double-clicking on the searched laser device

  1. Click the "Offline" button or the "Connect" button on the menu bar to establish a connection with the laser device. If the connection is successful, the laser device will be in the "Online" state, indicating that it has been successfully connected.

  1. Click on the Menu located in the upper right corner of LMS511 and select Open Device Window or double-click on the LMS511 icon to access the device window.

  1. The device window is displayed as follows:

  1. Click on [Monitor] to access the [Field Evaluation Monitor].

  1. At that moment, the region detected by the laser sensor will become visible, and the laser's functionality can be easily assessed by observing any alterations in the scanning reality through the obstructing glass mirror.
