[Node pass] 2458-3x3-AC Industrial AP

First, wireless configuration steps

If the WiFi AP 2458-3x3-AC is using web management mode, you will need to access the corresponding management page using its IP address. Therefore, if you change the IP address during configuration, please use the new IP address to access the page again. (The device's default IP address is 192.168.1.222, which you can use for the first time.)

1.1 WiFi AP 2458-3x3-AC Common Scenarios

The WiFi AP 2458-3x3-AC device is used for TCP network transmission and serves as the background server for data transmission.

Typically utilized for covering production lines and outdoor areas.

1.2 Common Networking Examples

  1. The AP transmits only one service VLAN.

  2. The AP is configured with a static IP address. The IP address is assigned by VLAN10.

  3. Configure an IP address for the access point

  4. Select the 2.4GHz/5GHz band based on the network. Choose 5GHz configuration here. The configuration process is the same as for 2.4GHz.

  5. Set the SSID name and password

  6. Save settings

  7. Verify wireless connectivity

1.5 Configuration Precautions

The signal interference from the environment has a significant impact on wireless networks. Therefore, before deploying and configuring a wireless network, it is necessary to scan the frequency of the surrounding environment and select a relatively clean channel configuration. The access point (AP) has a frequency scanning function for this purpose.

1.6 Configuration Procedure

  1. The AP's default IP address is 192.168.1.222. To access the login page, enter the IP address in the browser's address box. Username: admin Password: xxxx

  1. Channel Scanning: You can perform frequency scanning on the AP device. Open the screen and select Tools -> Channel Scanning -> RF 1 (5G) -> Start Scanning, as shown in the following screen:

The channel selection criteria are as follows: Select the channel with low noise level, low Busy%, and fewer APs. Select channel 44 as shown below.

  1. Set up an IP address for the access point. Go to Configuration > Network > Basic Information.

  1. Configure RF WLAN settings. Go to Configuration > Wireless > RF 1 (5G). If 5G is being used, disable the 2.4G radio first.

  • Go to Configuration > Wireless > RF 1 (5G) and set the parameters as shown in the red box in the previous figure.

  • Enable RF: Select this option to enable 5G RF.

  • Frequency mode: Choose AP mode.

  • Country code: Generally, select Hong Kong.

  • Wireless mode: Typically, select 802.11na HT20.

  • Channel: Select the channel based on the electromagnetic environment and scanning results.

  • Transmission power: The maximum transmission power can be adjusted to 30dBm. The actual transmission power will vary depending on the country code and channel selection. In the above figure, 44 channels are selected and the maximum transmission power can be adjusted to 24dBm.

  1. Set the SSID name and password. Go to Configuration -> Wireless -> RF 1 (5G) -> WLAN -> More and configure the SSID according to the following diagram.

Click the "More" button to access the following interface:

  • Activate WLAN. This parameter is mandatory.

  • SSID: Modify the SSID name to "AHND-test" as required.

  • User quarantine: Deselect the "√". If this parameter is selected, clients connected to the same SSID will not be able to ping each other.

  • Authentication mode: Choose WPA2-PSK.

  • Key: Enter "12345678".

  • Click Submit.

  1. Save the application. Click "Save Application" in the upper right corner of the page to ensure all configuration parameters take effect.

  1. Verify if the wireless connection is visible on the AP page. Go to Status -> RF 1 (5G) -> Association List to view information about terminal access.

2. Restart the AP device

Click on "Restart AP" located in the upper right corner of the management page and select "Restart" in the dialog box that appears to reboot the device. Once the device has restarted, the login page will be displayed.

3. Restore Factory Settings

To restore the AP to its factory defaults, simply select Manage > Restore Factory Defaults from the main menu.

The explanations for each configuration item on the Factory Settings Restoration screen are as follows:

Restore Factory Settings: Click this button to restore the factory settings.

Retain Network Settings: If this option is selected, the configured IP address, subnet mask, default gateway address, and VLAN information will be preserved for restoring factory settings.
